Description: The year 2000 was one of extremes, as it was hot, rainy and stormy. A mild winter was followed by storms and hail in the early growing season. The year was saved by one of the hottest summers in Champagne in half a century, giving rise to a bountiful harvest and grapes that were astoundingly rich.
