Description: Contino Gran Reserva is made from the best microplots of Finca San Rafael in Rioja Alavesa, primarily from stony soils near the Ebro River. Grapes are hand-harvested and undergo meticulous selection in both the vineyard and winery. The wine ages 24 months in French oak barrels (mix of new and used), resulting in a silky, elegant, and harmonious red wine that balances power and finesse. Vintages of this wine tend to receive high ratings, generally in the 94–97 point range (Wine Advocate – R. Parker, James Suckling, Guía de Vinos Gourmets).
